What to do

AI-suggested

The vulnerability is fixed in updated UDisks packages for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04 LTS. Users should apply the security updates to libudisks2-0 and udisks2 packages as provided by Ubuntu Pro and reboot their systems to complete the remediation. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patches and rebooting.

Description

A vulnerability in UDisks, a service used to access and manipulate storage devices in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04 LTS, allows a local attacker with an active console session to escalate privileges to root by exploiting incorrect handling of mount options when resizing certain filesystems. Fixes are available via updated package versions and require a system reboot.
