Users should avoid clicking on suspicious links targeting the /cgi-bin/action endpoint and restrict access to the camera's administrative interface to trusted networks and users. Monitor for any vendor advisories or updates regarding this vulnerability.
Description
Vilar VS-IPC1002 IP cameras have a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the /cgi-bin/action endpoint due to improper sanitization of GET request parameters. This flaw allows attackers to craft malicious URLs that, when visited by logged-in admin users, can execute arbitrary scripts in their browsers. Only version 1.1.0.18 was tested, and other versions may also be affected. No vendor response or patch is currently available.
