Until an official fix is available, restrict network access to the device's management interface to trusted users only and monitor for unusual activity. Avoid exposing the device management interface to untrusted networks.
Description
The WDR201A WiFi Extender (HW V2.1, FW LFMZX28040922V1.02) is affected by a critical OS command injection vulnerability in the internet.cgi binary. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands by injecting malicious input into the gateway POST parameter. The vulnerability arises from unsanitized parameter concatenation in the set_add_routing function, where injected commands are executed via popen(), with partial output reflected in the HTTP response.
