Since the vulnerability is unauthenticated and remotely exploitable, affected devices should be isolated from untrusted networks until a vendor advisory or patch is released. Monitor the vendor's communications for updates and apply official firmware updates once available. Avoid exposing the device's management interface to untrusted networks.

Description

The WDR201A WiFi Extender (HW V2.1, FW LFMZX28040922V1.02) has an OS command injection vulnerability in the makeRequest.cgi binary. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands by injecting malicious input into the set_time or StartSniffer functions. The attack bypasses input sanitization by using specially crafted ampersand-delimited parameters in a POST request, enabling command execution with a maximum length of 31 bytes.
