CVE-2024-45337 is a vulnerability in the golang.org/x/crypto/ssh library where misuse of the ServerConfig.PublicKeyCallback callback can lead to an authorization bypass. This flaw affects applications that incorrectly handle the sequence of public keys during SSH authentication, potentially allowing an attacker to bypass authorization checks. Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS) uses this library but is not directly affected by this flaw. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 & 9 and OpenShift are also not affected as they do not call the vulnerable function. No fix has been released yet, and the vulnerability requires insecure application logic to be exploitable.
CVE-2024-3220 is a low-severity vulnerability in the Python CPython standard library module mimetypes affecting Windows platforms. The issue arises because mimetypes uses default file locations that are writable by users on Windows, allowing creation of invalid files that can cause a MemoryError during Python startup or incorrect file type interpretation. This occurs due to Linux/macOS default paths being used on Windows where they are user-writable. The vulnerability is fixed in CPython versions 3.11.18, 3.12.16, 3.13.18, 3.14.9, 3.15.1, and 3.16.0. A workaround is to call mimetypes.init() with an empty list on Windows to avoid using the default writable locations.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: workqueue: Do not warn when cancelling WQ_MEM_RECLAIM work from !WQ_MEM_RECLAIM worker After commit 746ae46c1113 ("drm/sched: Mark scheduler work queues with WQ_MEM_RECLAIM") amdgpu started seeing the following warning: [ ] workqueue: WQ_MEM_RECLAIM sdma0:drm_sched_run_job_work [gpu_sched] is flushing !WQ_MEM_RECLAIM events:amdgpu_device_delay_enable_gfx_off [amdgpu] ... [ ] </TASK> The intent of the verifcation done in check_flush_depedency is to ensure forward progress during memory reclaim, by flagging cases when either a memory reclaim process, or a memory reclaim work item is flushed from a context not marked as memory reclaim safe. This is correct when flushing, but when called from the cancel(_delayed)_work_sync() paths it is a false positive because work is either already running, or will not be running at all. Therefore cancelling it is safe and we can relax the warning criteria by letting the helper know of the calling context. CVE-2024-47141 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's pinmux subsystem. It involves a race condition when two clients concurrently call pinctrl_select_state() for the same GPIO functionality, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The issue arises because one process may update the mux_usecount without yet updating mux_owner, causing the other process to access a NULL pointer. The vulnerability is addressed by serializing access to mux-related settings using a mutex lock.
CVE-2024-56690 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's crypto subsystem affecting the pcrypt encryption and decryption operations. The issue arises when padata_do_parallel() returns -EBUSY, causing the operations to return -EAGAIN during CPU online or offline events. This leads to a WARN in alg_test() and can trigger an unnecessary kernel panic if panic_on_warn is set to 1. The fix involves calling the crypto layer directly without parallelization in these cases to prevent the panic.
CVE-2024-53122 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Multipath TCP (MPTCP) implementation. It involves a race condition during subflow creation in the mptcp_rcv_space_adjust function, which can lead to a divide-by-zero error. This occurs when additional subflows are added to the subflow list before the three-way handshake completes, and a racing recvmsg() call triggers tcp_cleanup_rbuf() on subflows not yet in a suitable state. The flaw has been fixed by adding explicit state checks before invoking tcp_cleanup_rbuf().
moby v25.0.5 is affected by a Race Condition in builder/builder-next/adapters/snapshot/layer.go. The vulnerability could be used to trigger concurrent builds that call the EnsureLayer function resulting in resource leaks/exhaustion.
The HTML5 Video Player – mp4 Video Player Plugin and Block plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access of data due to a missing capability check on multiple functions called via the 'h5vp_ajax_handler' ajax action in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.32. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to call these functions to manipulate data.
CVE-2024-43856 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's DMA subsystem involving an incorrect call order in the dmam_free_coherent function. The flaw allows a race condition where a concurrent task can allocate the same virtual address before the devres entry is destroyed, potentially causing the kernel to free the wrong resource and trigger a warning. This issue has been fixed by changing the call order to destroy the devres entry before freeing the DMA allocation.

The cxl_nvd of the memdev needs to be available during the pmem region
probe. Currently the cxl_nvd is registered after the endpoint port probe.
The endpoint probe, in the case of autoassembly of regions, can cause a
pmem region probe requiring the not yet available cxl_nvd. Adjust the
sequence so this dependency is met.
This requires adding a port parameter to cxl_find_nvdimm_bridge() that
can be used to query the ancestor root port. The endpoint port is not
yet available, but will share a common ancestor with its parent, so
start the query from there instead.
A vulnerability in OpenSSL's SSL_select_next_proto API function can cause a crash or leak up to 255 bytes of memory to a peer when called with an empty client protocols buffer. This issue affects applications that improperly call this function with a zero-length client protocol list, which is typically a programming or configuration error. The flaw mainly impacts applications using the deprecated NPN protocol negotiation rather than the widely deployed ALPN. The vulnerability can lead to loss of confidentiality or denial of service but requires specific misconfigurations unlikely under attacker control. The issue is fixed in several updated OpenSSL package versions, and no new OpenSSL releases are currently issued due to the low likelihood of exploitation.
Argo CD is a declarative, GitOps continuous delivery tool for Kubernetes. The Argo CD API prior to versions 2.10-rc2, 2.9.4, 2.8.8, and 2.7.15 are vulnerable to a cross-server request forgery (CSRF) attack when the attacker has the ability to write HTML to a page on the same parent domain as Argo CD. A CSRF attack works by tricking an authenticated Argo CD user into loading a web page which contains code to call Argo CD API endpoints on the victim’s behalf. For example, an attacker could send an Argo CD user a link to a page which looks harmless but in the background calls an Argo CD API endpoint to create an application running malicious code. Argo CD uses the “Lax” SameSite cookie policy to prevent CSRF attacks where the attacker controls an external domain. The malicious external website can attempt to call the Argo CD API, but the web browser will refuse to send the Argo CD auth token with the request. Many companies host Argo CD on an internal subdomain. If an attacker can place malicious code on, for example, https://test.internal.example.com/, they can still perform a CSRF attack. In this case, the “Lax” SameSite cookie does not prevent the browser from sending the auth cookie, because the destination is a parent domain of the Argo CD API. Browsers generally block such attacks by applying CORS policies to sensitive requests with sensitive content types. Specifically, browsers will send a “preflight request” for POSTs with content type “application/json” asking the destination API “are you allowed to accept requests from my domain?” If the destination API does not answer “yes,” the browser will block the request. Before the patched versions, Argo CD did not validate that requests contained the correct content type header. So an attacker could bypass the browser’s CORS check by setting the content type to something which is considered “not sensitive” such as “text/plain.” The browser wouldn’t send the preflight request, and Argo CD would happily accept the contents (which are actually still JSON) and perform the requested action (such as running malicious code). A patch for this vulnerability has been released in the following Argo CD versions: 2.10-rc2, 2.9.4, 2.8.8, and 2.7.15. The patch contains a breaking API change. The Argo CD API will no longer accept non-GET requests which do not specify application/json as their Content-Type. The accepted content types list is configurable, and it is possible (but discouraged) to disable the content type check completely. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
