The issue arises because users with SOURCE/WRITE permissions on the Translate Module can upload and execute arbitrary PHP code by submitting a PHP file along with a . htaccess file. The supplier disputes this being a vulnerability, stating this behavior is intended for high-privileged users who manage translated website pages. There is no official patch or remediation guidance available at this time. The vulnerability has not been observed exploited in the wild.
