CVE-2026-62239: Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') in Dao-AILab flash-attentionCVE-2026-62239 0 CVE-2026-62239 is a symlink attack vulnerability in Dao-AILab's flash-attention up to version 2.8.3.post1. The issue exists in the download_and_copy() function in hopper/setup.py, which extracts NVIDIA toolchain archives without validating symlinks or filtering tar members. A local attacker can exploit this by pre-planting a symlink in the cache directory to redirect extracted files, enabling arbitrary file writes with the victim's privileges during build time. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.3. No official patch or remediation guidance is currently provided.
