Simple Machines Forum (SMF) versions up to and including 2.1.7 contain an authorization vulnerability in the profile loader. This flaw allows authenticated low-privileged users to escalate their privileges to administrator by exploiting a state confusion between profile ownership checks. The vulnerability enables unauthorized password changes and full account takeover. A fix was introduced in a commit identified as 6f0dc61. Simple Machines Forum 2.1 prior to commit 4bf35cf and 3.0 prior to commit b4d23df contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the image proxy that allows authenticated attackers to trigger internal HTTP requests by embedding attacker-controlled URLs in BBCode image tags, which the proxy fetches without validating resolved destination IPs against private address ranges, loopback, or link-local addresses. Attackers can leverage SMF's automatic HMAC signature generation for any embedded image URL to obtain valid signed proxy requests targeting internal services such as cloud instance metadata endpoints, internal web applications, and container network services. Simple Machines Forum 2.1 prior to commit 7d048f8 and 3.0 prior to commit a7875e8 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in Sources/Actions/AttachmentApprove.php where a single-character operator error causes the permission check to always pass regardless of user permissions. An authenticated low-privileged user can approve, reject, or delete any pending attachments on any board without holding the required approve_posts permission, bypass moderation queues for their own uploads, and enumerate and delete other users' pending attachments. free5GC SMF provides Session Management Function for free5GC, an open-source project for 5th generation (5G) mobile core networks. In versions up to and including 1.4.1, SMF panics and terminates when processing a malformed PFCP SessionReportRequest on the PFCP (UDP/8805) interface. No known upstream fix is available, but some workarounds are available. ACL/firewall the PFCP interface so only trusted UPF IPs can reach SMF (reduce spoofing/abuse surface); drop/inspect malformed PFCP SessionReportRequest messages at the network edge where feasible, and/or add recover() around PFCP handler dispatch to avoid whole-process termination (mitigation only). 0 A vulnerability was found in Free5GC SMF up to 4.1.0. Affected by this issue is the function HandleReports of the file /internal/context/pfcp_reports.go of the component PFCP UDP Endpoint. The manipulation results in denial of service. The attack can be executed remotely. It is advisable to implement a patch to correct this issue.
