The vulnerability arises because the media embed renderer trusts serialized provider or sourceUrl metadata without proper protocol validation, allowing an attacker to embed a javascript: iframe source. This can lead to execution of malicious scripts when a victim opens a crafted document. The issue is fixed starting from version 53.1.4.
