Express Gateway versions up to 1.16.11 contain a vulnerability due to a hardcoded cryptographic key. This flaw allows attackers with access to the datastore, such as Redis, to decrypt stored OAuth 2.0 token secrets by exploiting the default cipher key 'sensitiveKey'. By reading encrypted token values and combining them with stored token IDs, attackers can obtain valid bearer tokens for any user. Express Gateway versions up to 1.16.11 have an authentication bypass vulnerability in the OAuth 2.0 refresh_token grant flow. The vulnerability occurs because the system fails to validate the token secret or the issuing client properly. An attacker with any valid client credentials and the identifier part of another user's refresh token can obtain that user's access token and impersonate them against OAuth2-protected APIs.
