The OpenJDK 17 packages provide the OpenJDK 17 Java Runtime Environment and the OpenJDK 17 Java Software Development Kit. This release of the Red Hat build of OpenJDK 17 (17.0.14) for portable Linux serves as a replacement for the Red Hat build of OpenJDK 17 (17.0.13) and includes security and bug fixes as well as enhancements. Red Hat has released a security update for its build of OpenJDK 21 (version 21.0.4) addressing multiple vulnerabilities including array index overflow, UTF8 size overflow, infinite loop due to excessive symbol length, pre-loop limit overflow, and out-of-bounds access in 2D image handling. These issues affect the OpenJDK 21 Java Runtime Environment and Software Development Kit on portable Linux builds. The update replaces the previous version 21.0.3 and includes important security and bug fixes. The vulnerabilities have been assigned CVE identifiers CVE-2024-21131, CVE-2024-21138, CVE-2024-21140, CVE-2024-21145, and CVE-2024-21147.
