Red Hat Security Advisory: kernel-rt security updateCVE-2026-46331 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched subsystem (specifically in the pedit action) could lead to page cache corruption due to improper handling of copy-on-write (COW) ranges. The issue arises because the calculation of the COW range does not account for runtime header offsets, potentially leaving parts of the write region unprotected. This flaw has been addressed by moving the writable check inside the per-key loop and adding overflow checks. Red Hat has released security updates for affected kernel versions in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9 to fix this issue. Red Hat Security Advisory: kernel security, bug fix, and enhancement updateCVE-2026-31419 0 Multiple security vulnerabilities affecting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Real Time (kernel-rt) packages have been addressed in an important security advisory. The issues include use-after-free bugs in the bonding driver and net mana component, denial of service, out-of-bounds writes in USB audio, and race conditions in nvmet-tcp, among others. These vulnerabilities impact kernel components critical for real-time system determinism. The advisory provides updated kernel-rt packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Real Time variants. A system reboot is required after applying the update. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 06/19/2026, 17:14:05 UTC Added: 06/12/2026, 11:32:38 UTC |
