The issue arises because a user-supplied list of document fields accepted by the Kibana Playground for the RAG feature is not bounded in length or de-duplicated. This can cause Kibana to build a response much larger than the original data, exhausting system resources. The vulnerability affects Kibana versions 9.3.0 through 9.3.7 and 9.4.0 through 9.4.3. A patch is available to address this issue. No known exploits are reported in the wild. The severity is assessed as medium.
