OpenBao Userpass and LDAP User Lockout Bypass (CVE-2025-54998)CVE-2025-54998 0 OpenBao versions 0.1.0 through 2.3.1 contain a vulnerability that allows attackers to bypass the automatic user lockout mechanisms in the Userpass and LDAP authentication systems. This bypass occurs due to inconsistent aliasing between pre-flight and full login request user entity attributions. The issue is resolved in version 2.3.2. As a workaround, rate-limiting quotas can be applied to authentication endpoints. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/27/2026, 05:48:52 UTC Added: 09/08/2026, 12:56:22 UTC |
