An issue was discovered in Ruby 4 before 4.0.5. (CVE-2026-46727)CVE-2026-46727 0 A race condition vulnerability in Ruby 4 versions before 4.0.5 allows a remote attacker to cause a use-after-free in the pthread-based getaddrinfo timeout handler. This can lead to a crash of the Ruby process when calling Addrinfo.getaddrinfo with a timeout or Socket.tcp with a resolv_timeout. Exploitation requires delaying DNS responses near the user-specified timeout, potentially via a malicious DNS server or resolver. Memory corruption exploitation is theoretically possible. A patch is available in Ruby 4.0.5. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 05/27/2026, 08:57:36 UTC Added: 09/08/2026, 12:55:31 UTC |
