CVE-2026-73620 affects GitPython methods used by the Snowflake CLI, allowing arbitrary file overwrite and arbitrary file read due to unguarded forwarding of git command options. Specifically, IndexFile.checkout() can overwrite files outside the repository using the --prefix option, and TagReference.create() can read arbitrary files via the -F/--file option. These vulnerabilities arise because certain API methods forward **kwargs to git commands without checking for unsafe options.
