A security vulnerability (CVE-2024-0646) exists in the Linux kernel's ktls implementation where using the splice function with a ktls socket as the destination causes overwriting of readonly memory pages. This issue is addressed by a kpatch live patch module update for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. The update modifies running kernel code to fix the flaw. The vulnerability is rated as important by Red Hat Product Security.
