CVE-2024-14044: Buffer Overflow in Open5GSCVE-2024-14044
0

CVE-2024-14044 is a medium severity buffer overflow vulnerability in Open5GS versions 2.7.0 and 2.7.1. It affects the Diameter Rx Handler component, specifically the function pcrf_rx_aar_cb in the file src/pcrf/pcrf-rx-path.c. The vulnerability arises from improper handling of the arguments num_of_media_component and num_of_sub, which can lead to a buffer overflow. The flaw can be exploited remotely without user interaction and requires low privileges. A public exploit exists. Upgrading to Open5GS version 2.7.2 addresses this issue.
