CVE-2024-54488 is a logic vulnerability in Apple iOS and iPadOS that allowed photos in the Hidden Photos Album to be viewed without authentication. This issue was addressed by Apple through improved file handling and fixed in iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, iPadOS 17.7.3, and several macOS versions. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.3. It does not require user interaction or privileges to exploit and impacts confidentiality by allowing unauthorized viewing of hidden photos. No known exploits are reported in the wild.
