CVE-2024-54538 is a high-severity denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Apple iOS and iPadOS, among other Apple operating systems. The issue arises from insufficient input validation, allowing a remote attacker to cause a denial-of-service condition. Apple has addressed this vulnerability with improved input validation in multiple OS versions, including iOS 17.7.1, iPadOS 17.7.1, iOS 18.1, and iPadOS 18.1, as well as updates to macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
