CVE-2025-54874 is a medium severity vulnerability in the open-source JPEG 2000 codec OpenJPEG, versions 2.5.1 through 2.5.3. The issue arises from the use of an uninitialized variable in the function opj_jp2_read_header, which can lead to an out-of-bounds heap memory write when the input data stream is too short and the image pointer is not initialized. This vulnerability could potentially be exploited to cause memory corruption. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 08/05/2025, 14:33:17 UTC Added: 08/05/2025, 14:47:44 UTC |
