A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's libceph component involved the use of BUG_ON for map->max_osd boundary checks. This was replaced with proper bounds checking to validate OSD indexes, which come from untrusted network packets. The fix removes the BUG_ON call in ceph_get_primary_affinity() and adds boundary validation to prevent potential issues.
