Disconnected files or directories, which can occur when renamed or moved out of the scope of a bind mount, were previously handled incorrectly, potentially leading to inconsistent access control and access right widening. Exploitation requires a sandboxed task to have specific write and read permissions related to the bind mount source and mount point. The issue has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions.
