CVE-2025-7011: CWE-125 Out-of-bounds Read in Gen Digital Avast AntivirusCVE-2025-7011 0 CVE-2025-7011 is a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Avast Antivirus and related Gen Digital antivirus products when scanning malformed zip files containing XML. This flaw may allow local code execution or denial-of-service of the antivirus process. The vulnerability affects virus definition builds from 25020100 before 25021208 across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. The scanning logic is shared across several Gen Digital antivirus products via a common virus definition update stream. Installations at or above build 25021208 are not vulnerable.
