kin-openapi versions prior to 0.149.0 contain an uncontrolled recursion vulnerability in the runtime validation of requests, responses, and direct schemas. This occurs when an allOf, anyOf, or oneOf schema chain refers back to an ancestor schema, causing unbounded recursion that exhausts the Go goroutine stack and results in a fatal stack overflow. This crash terminates the entire process, affecting all requests. The issue is fixed in version 0.149.0.
