CVE-2026-103503 is an improper certificate validation vulnerability in the hexpm hex package affecting versions from 0.20.2 up to but not including 2.5.2. The issue arises when an attacker intercepts HTTPS connections and holds a certificate issued by a CA included in Hex's bundled CA store, but not in the user-configured CA store (cacerts_path). Due to flawed validation logic, the client may accept a server certificate chain that includes a bundled CA certificate even if the configured CA store excludes that CA. Hostname verification remains enforced. The CVSS 4.0 score is 5.9, indicating medium severity. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 10/12/2026, 15:17:45 UTC Added: 10/12/2026, 15:34:11 UTC |
