CVE-2026-104036 is a vulnerability in the SSSD NFS idmap plugin of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. It involves an out-of-bounds write caused by improper handling of oversized cached user or group name entries during identity lookups. This flaw can be triggered locally by an attacker, leading primarily to a denial of service through crashing the identity mapping service and potentially corrupting adjacent process memory.
