Pingora versions before 0.9.0 improperly handle HTTP/2 requests where the Host header differs from the :authority pseudo-header, violating RFC 9113. This discrepancy allows an attacker to send a request that appears to one host in request filters and logs but is routed to a different upstream host. This can lead to cache poisoning or host-based access control bypass if the deployment uses the authority for security or caching decisions. Cloudflare CDN customers are unaffected. Upgrading to Pingora 0.9.0 or later mitigates the issue by rejecting inconsistent Host and :authority headers.
