Joplin Desktop versions prior to 3.7.13 have an origin validation vulnerability in the Web Clipper server when enabled. The server sends Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * and does not properly restrict origins for sensitive pairing endpoints, allowing arbitrary websites to request authorization. The desktop confirmation dialog does not show the requesting origin, so users may unknowingly authorize malicious sites, exposing their permanent API token. This token grants full read and write access to notes, folders, tags, resources, and master keys. The issue is fixed in version 3.7.13.
