CVE-2026-10640: use-after-free in zephyrproject zephyrCVE-2026-10640 0 A use-after-free vulnerability exists in Zephyr's IPv6 Neighbor Discovery send paths affecting versions 3.3.0 through 4.4.0. The issue arises when per-interface ICMP-sent statistics are updated after the network stack has released the packet reference, leading to a potential dereference of freed memory. This can cause corrupted statistics, application crashes (denial of service), or limited memory corruption. The vulnerability can be triggered by unauthenticated on-link nodes sending ICMPv6 Neighbor Solicitations to affected Zephyr nodes with native IPv6 enabled. Configurations without per-interface statistics are not affected by the memory safety issue. A fix replaces the problematic packet reference with a safer interface argument.
