0 phpMyFAQ versions before 4.1.9 and certain 4.2.0 pre-release versions contain an SQL injection vulnerability in the PdoMysql::escape() function. This flaw arises because single quotes are escaped with backslashes, which are ineffective when MySQL or MariaDB runs in NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES mode. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this by sending a Unicode right single quotation mark in the search parameter of api/autocomplete, allowing them to read sensitive data, modify database records, or drop tables.
