0 libsmi versions up to and including 0.5.0 contain an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the smiValueAsString() function. This flaw allows an attacker to overflow a fixed 1024-byte static buffer when rendering OCTET STRING values in hex format. By supplying a crafted MIB with an OCTET STRING default value of 512 or more octets starting with a 0x00 byte, an attacker can corrupt adjacent library globals and cause a crash in smidump or other consumers.
