Mistune versions before 3.3.0 contain an algorithmic complexity vulnerability in the inline link parser. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust CPU resources by submitting markdown payloads with long runs of unmatched '[' characters, causing quadratic parsing time. The vulnerability can occupy rendering workers for over 30 seconds per 16 KB input, leading to denial of service conditions.
