CVE-2026-11793: Stack-based Buffer Overflow in Red Hat Red Hat Directory Server 11CVE-2026-11793 0 CVE-2026-11793 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Red Hat Directory Server 11's 389 Directory Server. The flaw exists in the checkPrefix() function in pw. c, which copies an attacker-controlled algorithm ID into a fixed 256-byte stack buffer without bounds checking when parsing reversible-encrypted attribute values. An attacker with Directory Manager privileges can exploit this by storing a crafted credential with an oversized algorithm ID, causing the LDAP server to crash. The FORTIFY_SOURCE feature mitigates this vulnerability to denial of service only. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 06/09/2026, 13:11:40 UTC Added: 06/09/2026, 13:25:47 UTC |
