CVE-2026-15689: CWE-640 Weak Password Recovery Mechanism for Forgotten Password in ABEVERLEY Dancer2::Plugin::Auth::ExtensibleCVE-2026-15689
0

Dancer2::Plugin::Auth::Extensible versions up to 0.713 for Perl contain a weakness in their password recovery mechanism. The reset password and welcome emails generate links using the request Host header or X-Forwarded-Host, which can be manipulated by an attacker. This allows an attacker to poison the reset link, causing the victim to send a valid reset code to a host controlled by the attacker. This flaw enables account takeover without authentication.
