CVE-2026-15996: CWE-674 Uncontrolled Recursion in GitHub Enterprise ServerCVE-2026-15996
0

CVE-2026-15996 is a denial of service vulnerability in GitHub Enterprise Server that allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause excessive CPU consumption and exhaust request-handling worker processes by sending a crafted HTTP POST request with deeply nested parameters. This issue affects all versions prior to 3.21 and was fixed in versions 3.20.3, 3.19.7, 3.18.10, and 3.17.16. The vulnerability arises because request parameters are parsed before routing and authentication, enabling any POST endpoint to trigger the condition and potentially render the server unresponsive.
