CVE-2026-18147: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in Red Hat Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10CVE-2026-18147
0

CVE-2026-18147 is a DOM-based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the FreeIPA/IdM Web UI password reset page on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by tricking a victim into clicking a crafted link and completing a password reset, allowing arbitrary JavaScript execution within the victim's session. This can lead to actions performed with the victim's privileges, including potential full administrative control if an IdM administrator is targeted. The vulnerability poses a significant risk to identity management infrastructure. No official patch or fix is currently confirmed by Red Hat. The vendor recommends restricting network access to the FreeIPA/IdM Web UI to trusted networks via firewall rules as a mitigation.
