An attacker can exploit this by crafting a malicious EMF file that, when opened or processed by the affected software, causes the application to read memory outside the intended bounds. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive information from the application's memory space. The vulnerability requires local access (attack vector: local), no privileges, but does require user interaction to open the malicious file.
