CVE-2026-29036: Use of Incorrectly-Resolved Name or Reference in DaveGamble cJSONCVE-2026-29036 0 cJSON versions 1.5.0 through 1.7.19 contain a vulnerability in the decode_pointer_inplace() function that allows attackers to manipulate JSON Patch operations by using crafted JSON Pointer escape sequences. This can cause operations to target incorrect object keys, potentially leading to silent data corruption or deletion of unintended keys. Applications using cJSONUtils_ApplyPatches() or cJSONUtils_ApplyPatchesCaseSensitive() are affected, which may allow bypass of authorization controls relying on JSON Patch for access control.
