CVE-2026-3973: Stack-based Buffer Overflow in Tenda W3CVE-2026-3973
0

CVE-2026-3973 is a high-severity stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Tenda W3 routers running firmware version 1.0.0.3(2204). The flaw exists in the formSetAutoPing function within the /goform/setAutoPing component, where specially crafted POST parameters (ping1/ping2) can overflow the stack. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication or user interaction, potentially allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause denial of service. Although no public exploits are currently known in the wild, the exploit details have been publicly disclosed, increasing the risk of exploitation. Organizations using affected Tenda W3 devices should prioritize patching or mitigating this issue to prevent compromise. The vulnerability poses significant risks to network integrity and availability, especially in environments relying on these routers for critical connectivity.
