CVE-2026-42784 is a vulnerability in the sequoia-openpgp library used by Red Hat Confidential Compute Attestation. The flaw involves incorrect inference of key flags for older certificates when a key flags subpacket is missing, causing a discrepancy in key capability interpretation. This allows attackers to bypass the back-signature check and illegitimately bind arbitrary subkeys to their certificates, enabling signature forgery and compromising cryptographic integrity. No official fix or mitigation currently meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment.
