CVE-2026-44896: CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in lepture mistuneCVE-2026-44896 0 CVE-2026-44896 is a medium severity cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Python Markdown parser mistune (lepture project) versions 3. 2. 0 and earlier. The issue arises because the render_figure() function in src/mistune/directives/image. py directly concatenates user-supplied figclass and figwidth options into HTML attributes without proper escaping. This allows attribute injection and XSS even when the HTMLRenderer is configured to escape content, as these values bypass the inline renderer's escaping mechanisms. No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available from the vendor. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 05/26/2026, 20:33:38 UTC Added: 05/27/2026, 14:04:26 UTC |
