0 OCaml-tar versions before 3.4.0 contain a directory traversal vulnerability where crafted archive entries with '../' path segments allow extraction outside the intended directory. Unlike standard tar implementations that reject such archives, ocaml-tar decompresses them, enabling arbitrary file writes outside the extraction directory. This vulnerability can be exploited by an attacker who can supply a malicious tar archive to a decompression endpoint.
