CVE-2026-47269: CWE-284: Improper Access Control in mcdope pam_usbCVE-2026-47269
0

CVE-2026-47269 is a high-severity vulnerability in pam_usb versions prior to 0. 9. 0 that allows bypassing the deny_remote access control. The flaw arises because pam_usb's deny_remote feature incorrectly checks only part of the IPv6 address to determine if an authentication request is remote. On systems where SSH listens on IPv6 wildcard addresses and accepts IPv4 connections as IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses, remote SSH sessions are mistakenly treated as local. This allows an attacker with physical access to a registered USB device to authenticate over SSH as if local, bypassing deny_remote restrictions. The issue is fixed in pam_usb version 0. 9. 0.
