CVE-2026-47731: CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in NASA-AMMOS AIT-CoreCVE-2026-47731
0

CVE-2026-47731 is a critical path traversal vulnerability in the Binary Stream Capture (BSC) component of NASA-AMMOS AIT-Core software. It allows unauthenticated remote attackers to append arbitrary data to files outside the intended logging directory by exploiting an HTTP API that blindly trusts path-related input. This can be triggered remotely if the BSC server is network-accessible or via a local network through malicious web content. The vulnerability affects AIT-Core versions prior to 2.6.1 and version 3.1.0. Users are advised to upgrade to versions 2.6.1 or 3.1.1 to mitigate the issue.
