The flaw arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the 'status' parameter in an AJAX action, combined with a publicly leaked nonce that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts. These scripts execute whenever a user accesses a page containing the injected content. The vulnerability has a high severity score of 7.2 and allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to compromise user interactions via script injection.
