CVE-2026-48528: CWE-89: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') in NCEAS metacatCVE-2026-48528 0 Metacat versions prior to 3.4.1 contain an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in the /cn/v1/object and /cn/v2/object REST API endpoints. The vulnerability allows attackers to inject SQL commands via the nodeId parameter, leading to arbitrary data extraction and modification in the underlying PostgreSQL database. This can expose sensitive information including user identifiers, access logs, and access control data. The vulnerability is critical and fully remediated in Metacat version 3.4.1. As a temporary mitigation, disabling the /cn REST endpoints can prevent exploitation without impacting most deployments.
