During execve(2) of a SUID binary, the new virtual address space is installed before the process credentials are updated. (CVE-2026-49415)CVE-2026-49415
0

CVE-2026-49415 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability occurring during the execve system call of a SUID binary. The vulnerability arises because the new virtual address space is installed before the process credentials are updated, allowing a race condition. During this window, an unprivileged local user running as the same user can access and modify the target process's memory via procfs or linprocfs before the credentials are elevated. This can lead to full system compromise if exploited.
