CVE-2026-49467: CWE-303: Incorrect Implementation of Authentication Algorithm in smp46 pingvin-share-xCVE-2026-49467
0

Pingvin Share X versions 1.5.0 through 1.18.0 contain a vulnerability that allows bypassing password verification when managing TOTP settings due to missing await keywords on asynchronous password verification calls. This causes the authentication logic to incorrectly treat unresolved Promises as truthy, preventing proper password validation. The issue is fixed in version 1.18.1 by properly awaiting asynchronous calls. No official workarounds exist; administrators must manually reset TOTP status if users are locked out.
