CVE-2026-49870: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in grokability snipe-itCVE-2026-49870
0

Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.6.1 have a vulnerability in the two-factor authentication implementation. The POST /two-factor endpoint lacks rate limiting or attempt counters, allowing unlimited TOTP guesses by an attacker with valid credentials. This can lead to unauthorized session creation. Additionally, when two-factor authentication is enabled, it can be disabled without OTP verification unless required mode 2 is set. Administrators can also reset other users' two-factor secrets via an API endpoint. This vulnerability is fixed in version 8.6.1.
